Theresa has a new perspective on life with clear priorities, after incarceration. With little structure in her life, she knew she needed to stay focused on her health, finding employment, and reacquiring her license.
During her stay at a halfway house, she achieved these primary goals but was concerned about her future, as her stay was ending. With three days of housing left, Theresa was connected with The Lord’s Place Women’s Services department, assessed, and accepted into the program. She moved into her new home on June 3, 2020.
Since then, her life has changed immensely. “The impact the program has had on my life is amazing.” She now has full-time employment, and her health is much better. She has opened a checking and savings account – a brand-new experience for her. Theresa’s transition is going very well. “I thank God for what I had to go through to come out. I’m about to graduate from Burckle Place soon and open up a new chapter in my life.”
