Takeria and her two daughters, who were under the age of two, became homeless after an incident of domestic violence. The family lived in her car for a couple of months before entering the Lewis Center. She was connected with a local agency who provided her daughters and her with a 90-day stay in a motel until she was connected with The Lord’s Place.
Takeria lives with heart disease and has had multiple procedures to address condition, but she doesn’t let it get in her way! Since coming to the Family Campus, she has been able to recover from her procedures and enroll in the Job Ready Program. She developed working skills in the Job Ready program, and used them to gain full-time employment with benefits. Soon, Takeria and her two daughters will graduate from The Family Campus into their own housing!
