Meal Mobile

Empowering Change

The Meal Mobile in Action

This transformative vehicle, created in partnership with GL Homes, is equipped with a full-service kitchen for serving nourishing meals and an office space for engaging clients, expediting their journey out of homelessness.  Catered and staffed by The Lord's Place Joshua Catering and culinary apprentices, this Meal Mobile serves as a training ground for clients who are in our culinary program.  It is also a vehicle for our peer specialists, staff with lived experiences, to actively engage with those who are currently homeless.

The Meal Mobile embodies our philosophy of using food as a tool for engagement. By addressing hunger as a primary necessity, we can initiate conversations about meeting the needs of those we serve and ultimately ending their homelessness.

The Meal Mobile also facilitates the distribution of clothes, hygiene products, and connections to healthcare, mental health services, shelter/housing, and more. It travels to various locations throughout Palm Beach County, making essential services more accessible to those in need.

The Lord’s Place is excited to embark on this journey with the Meal Mobile, making a profound difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness. Together, we aim to create lasting change and empower individuals on their path to stability and self-sufficiency.

The Meal Mobile served 9,275 meals from October 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.
