It is hard to account for all the items you need in a day to be successful. For someone just starting their life again, everything is needed from dishes in the kitchen to socks on their feet.
In order to instill self-sufficiency, The Lord’s Place offers a hand-up – not a hand-out. In-kind donations are carefully separated, filling our campus pantries, Operation Home Ready supply, and the professional clothes closet and our social enterprise Joshua Thrift Store. Clients are given vouchers for the thrift store if they items they need aren’t part of their programs supplies. The voucher will allow them to get what they need to furnish their new homes or help them with clothing for a new job at no cost to them.
In-Kind donations come in all shapes and sizes – and all are appreciated! Below are a few popular items that are donated and needed on a regular basis:
Household Items: Dishes, decorations, linens, towels, furniture
Children’s Items: Toys, clothes, diapers, wipes, formula
Essentials: New underwear and socks, women’s products
Clothes: Gently used clothes for all ages, including professional attire for job interviews, jewelry
Other: Tools, small kitchen appliances, kitchen utensils, pots and pans, books.

While the thrift store does not accept kids items or appliances, kids items are taken to the family campus, and if the appliance cannot be used on one of our campuses, we partner with local non-profits that would benefit from the donation.
Donations can be dropped off at the thrift store, or any of our campuses during normal business hours. Larger donations can be picked up during a scheduled time by calling 561.537.4666 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
