The Lord’s Place is one of the most dynamic, passion-driven organizations in Palm Beach County working tirelessly to break the cycle of homelessness in our community. For more than 30 years, we have provided innovative, compassionate and effective services to men, women and children. In the last 10 years, our organization has grown exponentially by expanding supportive housing, delivering job training and employment services to the high-risk population, expanding homeless outreach and engagement and working to reduce recidivism for those returning from incarceration. In the next five years, we intend to expand these programs and services even more.

With an annual operating budget of $8.5 million, The Lord’s Place is a non-sectarian agency with nine locations and helps to transform the lives of over 1,500 people each year. We are seeking an individual who believes in our mission, has a big vision and is excited to take our agency to new levels.
The Chief Program Officer will be a highly visible thought leader who serves as a critical member of the executive leadership team. He/she will collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to better deliver and create innovative services while being responsible for the planning, organizing, operating and staffing of all programs within the agency. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Program Officer will partner with the CEO in articulating and implementing the strategic vision and leadership of the agency. In addition, working with a diverse team of mission-driven colleagues, the Chief Program Officer will provide overall strategic vision and operational responsibility for the programs of the agency. The candidate will represent the agency on a local, regional and national basis and will be responsible for the creation of visionary programs that align with our organizational and strategic goals.
The Chief Program Officer will be responsible for the overall management of our programs and service. The CPO will supervise 5 – 7 high level Program Directors. He/she will have several main areas of focus: deliver our mission, lead an innovative team, ensure exceptional programming, engage our communities, and serve our clients.
Deliver Our Mission – The Chief Program Officer will lead the vision and implementation of The Lord’s Place strategic program plan. He/she will effectively implement goals and objectives in our five strategic pillars including housing, job training and employment, social enterprise, homeless outreach and engagement, and reentry services – as well as our ancillary programs including clinical services, women’s services, and children services.
Lead an Innovative Team – The Chief Program Officer will provide leadership to the team of Directors sustaining the culture of the organization and supporting staff through organizational growth and change. He/she will promote employee engagement, teamwork and accountability, and will effectively and productively coach and enable staff to interact with other departments. The Chief Program Officer must be able to inspire and encourage staff.
Ensure Exceptional Programming – The candidate will ensure ongoing programmatic excellence that meets the changing needs of our clients. He/she will analyze the strengths and weaknesses in all programs and implement strategies and policies for effectiveness and growth. The Chief Program Officer will work with program directors to establish annual departmental goals and objectives and track these goals to establish accountability procedures.
Engage Our Communities –The Chief Program Officer will cultivate and nurture relationships with partner organizations and foster strong working relationships with donors, funders, government entities, community groups, business and other entities to help achieve the goals of the organization. He/she will develop collaborative relationships with local and state agencies and other funders to improve services provided to clients; and ensure that the organization and its mission, programs and services have a strong, positive image within the community. The Chief Program Officer will work in tandem with the CEO to secure private funding.

The Chief Program Officer will embrace our commitment to a trauma-informed environment.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree or significant work experience – 10 plus years – in an executive leadership role in social services. A LCSW certification or something similar is preferred. He/she will have a strong commitment to social justice and a passion for The Lord’s Place mission. The candidate will possess eloquent and compelling communication and influencing skills, a strong work ethic, impeccable integrity, positive attitude, and strong commitment to working collaboratively. He/she will have superior critical thinking capabilities and experience developing and implementing strategies and plans, and ideally overseeing major initiatives.
