Catering Sales & Event Coordinator – F/T June 6, 2024

We are seeking a Catering Sales and Events Coordinator to join our culinary team. The Catering Sales and Events Coordinator will be responsible for the creation, organization, production, presentation & delivery of all Joshua Catering Company orders, The Lord’s Place events, complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. The ideal candidate will support the mission, values, and vision of The Lord’s Place, respecting clients’ rights and ensuring an atmosphere that allows for the dignity and well-being of clients in a safe and secure environment. Hours may vary based on need.

 Some responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all catering operations of Joshua Catering Company in the absence of the Director of Culinary Operations and Assistant Director of Food Services.
  • Supervise Catering Customer Support staff and Catering Bartenders.
  • Respond to all incoming calls and emails for information and quotes on catering services and available dates and timelines.
  • Plan, design, and coordinate catering event activities with the Director of Culinary Operations and Assistant Director of Food Services.
  • Coordinate, with food service and delivery staff, the food and beverage requirements, delivery, set-up and breakdown of events, and staffing, with special emphasis on expediting.
  • Monitor the status of event files, oversee, and participate in the booking, set-up, operation, and breakdown of catering events.
  • Meet and/or consult with clients to inform them of all services provided and to establish the catering requirements for the events.
  • Produce quotes and invoices for the client and collect and report revenues and expenses generated from each event.
  • Coordinate with Advancement and Operations on marketing for catering.
  • Coordinate with internal departments in the creation of, execution, and follow-up for events. Assist in accessing necessary resources to enable these events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Culinary Operations according to business needs.

Requirements for the position include:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience managing at least 2 people.
  • Experience in catering operation required.
  • Excellent reading and writing skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills.
  • Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills.
  • Ability to follow all written and verbal instructions and procedures.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn and use related software such as Caterease.
  • Ability to safely operate catering vehicles; knowledge of related laws and regulations.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Pass a level II background check. 
  • Requires standing for long periods.
  • Requires safely lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. (handcart may be used), as well as reaching, bending, and kneeling.
