Burckle Place III
Burckle Place III is The Lord’s Place’s fourth supportive housing facility for women.
In the Spring of 2024, the program began housing 21 women experiencing homelessness. The site offers an intergenerational cohousing model that seeks to address the rise in senior homelessness by prioritizing 50 percent of units to women ages 55 and over. Burckle Campus, consisting of Burckle Place, Burckle Place West and Burckle Place III, serves approximately 75 women a year.
Burckle Campus is specially designed to help women heal from their past trauma and obtain new skills and resources to regain self-sufficiency.
It provides comprehensive services, including case management, peer support, benefits navigation, basic needs assistance (food, clothing, and hygiene items), as well as access to counseling, job training and placement, life skills development, ABE/GED tutoring, and health care and coordination.
In addition, residents are introduced to new activities and interests to promote their health and well-being. These activities include on-site yoga sessions, meditation, art lessons, and self-defense workshops. The Women’s Supportive Housing Initiative’s philosophy is centered on the principle that the best environment to foster growth and empowerment is one rooted in community, fellowship, and service.
